The Vodafone Prague Marathon starts and finishes at Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí), the historic heart of Prague, heading out along the elegant Pařížská street and passing Wallenstein Palace and Prague Castle within the first two kilometres. Shortly after, the race crosses the iconic Charles Bridge, one of the most photographed moments of the whole event.

The route continues past the Rudolfinum on the banks of the Vltava River and heads into the Karlín district, the city's more modern face, around kilometre 9.
